MARISA PETITTI, VIOLA AND VIOLIN
A dedicated musician and teacher, Marisa Petitti studied music for two years at San Diego State University and finished earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Music at the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. She formerly held the position of principal violist of the San Diego State University Symphony Orchestra, the San Diego State University Opera Ensemble, and the Cal Poly Symphonic Orchestra.

Her performance of Suite for Viola and Orchestra by Ralph Vaughan Williams won her the 2015 ASTA College Solo Competition in San Diego. In addition, she won the Cal Poly Soloist Showcase Competition in 2017 with her performance of Suite Hébraïque by Ernest Bloch.
​
Some of the teaching experiences dearest to Marisa were that of the San Diego A.R.T.S. Educational Program as well as the Strings in the Schools program run by the San Luis Obispo Symphony. Marisa has had the pleasure of working with many students of varying ages, personalities, and learning types throughout her career thus far. With over ten years of private lesson experience and four years of public school string program experience, she greatly looks forward to her future adventures teaching music.
